Overview of our University Advanced Diploma courses
We teach the following professional Advanced Diploma courses (level 6) accredited by the University of Worcester. Each course is comprised of two separate modules that must be successfully completed to be awarded a diploma.
We run each diploma over a 15 to 18 month cycle, and the Managing the Role of the SENCo course have been designed to allow you to start with whichever module is running at the time. Overcoming Barriers to Learning Maths requires that you take Module 1 first. The modules are mostly taught over four days in a 2 x 2 days pattern, which we have found to be the most effective way for learning and supporting assignment writing.
Candidates are required to complete assignments for each module to achieve their Advanced Diplomas. There are normally two assignments and together they total 4000 words. These are very practical, work/school based and mainly focus on improving aspects of provision. Our approach is very flexible and we seek through discussion to personalise each assignment by finding the topic that best suits the priorities and context of each individual. In addition there is a requirement to submit a short piece (400 words) reflecting on one's personal learning from the course.
Here are the courses that we are currently recruiting for:
Managing the Role of the SENCo
Module 1 - starting Sepetmber 2017
Recruiting now for Module 2 - Beginning 27th September 2016
This course is open to any colleagues who would prefer to participate, either on a full or part time basis, without taking the Advanced Diploma.
