The Changing Role of the SENCo

This one day course is a direct response to the changing climate of Special Educational Needs and Disability following the Single Equality Act and the recent Government Green Paper, which heralds the most significant changes to the world of SEN since the Warnock Report!

The course will:

• Examine the most up-to-date legislation and intelligence on current and future SEND trends including the implications of the new Disability duties, Academy status and The Green Paper
• Explore the current and future role for the SENCo in this ever-changing environment
• Empower the SENCo with the skills and understanding to strategically  manage and respond to the changes ahead
• Enable the SENCo to ensure the best and most effective provision for pupils with special educational needs and disability
